Civilization created glass thousands of years ago,  and yet we are still  fascinated by the substance. The simple raw materials and  the skill of craftmanship result in a wonderful material with extreme variety and unending forms and colors.

In   artistic glass blowing three different types of glass are used:

  • Soda glass, prepared from  sand and soda (mostly used for Venetian glass)
  • Potassium glass, prepaired from sand and ash of plants like fern (often used by the Czech glassblowers)
  • lead glass, produced from sand and lead-oxide (used by the Scandinavian blowers and often very heavy)

We specialize in the glass of the twentieth century

  • from Italy,  the Murano art glass from 1920 to 1970
  • from Venini, the newly designed art glass from 1970 to 2005
  • from Sweden, mainly Kosta and Orrefors art glass from 1935 to 1965
  • from Finland, the art glass from 1940 to 1970

You can find a nice selection of our art glass pieces in the following pages, ask for more items if you have special interests.
